Default Re: USB Interfaces

Zepheris,

Don't believe everything the manual or the stickers tell you on your player. I've seen some of these players having a "Sony" brand printed on them and we all know it's not really a "Sony"

Unfort, you might have been ripped off by the manufacturer on the USB 2.0 interface. Personally, I don't know of a 'fix' or 'hack' you can put on the player that will enable it to have USB 2.0 speeds. As far as I know, it's actually the HARDWARE itself that's diff from USB 1.1 and USB 2.0.

If you are noticing slow speeds (and you will with USB 1.1 and USB 2.0), try the following to double confirm it is a HARDWARE issue and not to do with your computer:

1. Try another device that you know is USB 2.0 and see how that transfer on your computer.

2. Try plugging your player into another computer/s and see what the transfer rate is.

That way you can be sure it's definately not USB 1.1 and not your computer that's the problem.
