I agree w/ Binh. Replacement should be the 1st option. However, if it is out of warranty period (what I assumed) I can't think of any other option.

Question for Binh:
If he has original FW on the CD, couldn't he reflash safely with that ?

Is just the process of re-flashing risky, or WHAT you flash it with ?
I know many people try different FW in hopes of unlocking some secret magical functions , But I mean the factory supplied stuff.
