I'm the same as you. I sell these mpx players in New Zealand. Decided to start up this site for the purpose of sharing my obsession with this player and to help people with mp3/mp4 (I just call them "mpx" cause it's easier).
In terms of your question about manufacturers, LOTS of manufacturers in China produce these players. They all use the same generic casing but have the option of different board manufacturers to choose from. That's what causes the most problem with people updating their firmware. Unfort, not all firmware is compatible with each other.
I strongly suggest you put a policy saying "we will not refund a player if it has been incorrectly flashed with an incorrect firmware".
