Your memory may have format errors in which case reformating using the MP3 Player utilities 3.68

may fix your problem.

Another reason is that some players have been known to have memory chips that have been hacked so that they appear to be larger than they really are. Your 256mb memory may only be 95mb. If you reformat and the drive no longer shows as a 256mb drive there is a good chance you have been ripped off and you should return the player and demand a refund.
