wompah1, did you select the correct drive in the mp3 format tool and have you tried the low formatting option.
Try formatting directly with your pc formatting tool. If you have windows xp, right-click on your mpx's driver-icon in "My Computer" and select format.
If that doesn't help, try defragmenting your mpx's flash disk.
Right-click on the icon again and select properties. On the "tools" tab, select degragment now.
Degragmenting may help clear the corrupted bits on your player.
