I suggestion I can give is let it power down for the first few chargers. This is recommended by most people when using a device that has a battery in it.
I too have had a dodgy wall charger. It seems they're not all that reliable then if people are complaining about them. Personally, I dont' use the wall charger as I spend enough time on the computer to charge about 100 mpx players!!
