If these are the figures you used,

"By entering the line DISKFULL=1600000000 in the .ini file it converted upto 155MB of the movie and said DISK FULL.
I tried increasing the value to 480000000 but this time it converted only 38MB."

you actually decreased the setting by 1120000000.
