By the way, can you see the driver icon in win explorer (i.e. can you put songs, files, etc. on the player)
Your player shouldn't be completely dead if windows recognizes it as usb device.
Do make sure you're short ciruiting the correct chip. Usually it's the biggest chip.
Also, what happens when you try to turn on your player? Have you tried contacting your seller by the way?
