suley, Couple of things I notice, The left side of the Update tool is blank and showing no firmware is on your player at all which is right for a reset. However you need to be uploading a full version firmware if you are uploading dump files they are only partial firmware and will generate an error message. You need to find a full version firmware and install it first, it probably wont fix your player 100% but it will put it in a state where a firmware dump will restore your player.
This is the only full firmware that I have, it has worked for me

If you have not read it already I suggest you read the
DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE I posted as there are a few steps you may need to take if you get error messages.
I suggest you try the Full version firmware I have linked for you and then your brothers backup.

PS By the way I watched your flash and I noticed you have the stressreducer machine gun thing, it was detected as a Trojan Virus by my antivirus so you may want to ditch it.
