heisman269, the image files are so you can edit your own dump.bin using s1res which you can download from the Downloads>Tools section. A guide on how to do this is in the Knowledge Base

Editing your own dump.bin firmware extraction is far safer than trying to install someone else's already modified firmware which could be incompatible with your player.
Modifying your own firmware may take some time but it is no where near as time consuming as trying to recover a dead player.
