First thing I have to ask is, did you do anything to the player? Like try to update the firmware on your player? It's best to ask what happened to it before the problems started happening.

Try Superboto suggestion with formatting the player. But then again, you might not be able to if Windows doesn't recognise it.

Try plugging your player into ANOTHER USB port on your computer to see if Windows picks it up.

What version of Windows are you using?
