You can check your firmware version also using the s1fwx tool to extract it. It will show up on the screen once it's been extracted what the version is.
Yeh, I agree, I wish I knew enough about programming to do it myself!
. I've tried a lot to bug the manufacturers to change it, but they won't do it unless you pay them lots of money and order a few thousand units. It's actually the chip manufacturers that you need to convince as they mainly do the updating or configuring....... Plus I don't know enough Chinese to try to use some of the apps available (I have some but in chinese
)
