Whatn you say "wrong/defected firmware", can you explain that alittle more please?
Does it give you errors or something else?
Replacing the firmware will most likely make it WORST and put it in a WORST state than it is now.
It could be that there are corruptions in the file system of your player and a FORMAT of the player might be able to fix it.
