samsoft, The only thing I can suggest is that you use the DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE
HERE to try and reset your player. If you did not backup your original firmware you will just have to try some until you find one that works for your player. I your player stops responding you will have to start the process again by re-shorting the chip.
