I've never really had this problem to be honest.
I wondered if this is because of the virus?
I have seen a similar virus put on VCD discs to prevent you from copying it. It would install the wincfg.exe and autorun.exe to 'counter' CD copying software from being able to read the disks. I don't know why they would put that on an MPx player though?
Have you ran "msconfig" from the [start] --> [Run] menu yet? This will tell you what programs start up when Windows starts and you can disable it from the [Startup] tab. Check that in case that's stuffing you your AMV Player.
What you can also do is create a NEW USER account (with full admin rights). Then install the MP3 Player Utilities again under that NEW USER account and see what happens?
