angelxena, If Windows and HP Format Tool will not format the player then there may be a fault in the flash chip. You could try the MP3 Player Disk Tool that is part of MP3 Player Utilities but I fear you may strike the same problem.
The only other thing I can think of is it may be a driver problen and to try either connecting it to a different USB Port, one that you have not used the player on before or another computer.

Failing that I would get on to your seller. For a start I would ask him why your 4GB player only has a 2GB Memory chip and quote him the chip details and ask for a complete refund. If you used eBay and Paypal for the sale then I would contact them as well.

Sorry there is no good news for you but I do not think you are going to be able to fix the problem.
