Do you have any other versions of the MP3 Utilities installed on your computer?

Try plugging your USB cable from your player into another port in your computer instead.

Then try using the "Update Tool" and see if you get a disconnect again.

If you use the same firmware you had modified with the Spawn bootup image, it should work.

Take note of the display that comes up when you open the Update Tool and check to make sure it saids the SAME VERSION of firmware on the player and on the firmware file.
