When you get it, I suggest you use the s1fwx tool (downloadable from our "Downloads" area) to extract the firmware so you have a backup of it.

The steps on how to do this is in the [Knowledge Base] section of this site.

Then make a backup of that dump.bin file. Then you should be able to use that to reskin your player.

But first thing is to make a backup of your existing firmware and make sure you have it safe somewhere before you start playing around with reskinning.

Download also the "MP3 Player Utilities" as this will give you the AMV video converter, disk tool and firmware upgrade tool as well.

Remember to NOT use someone else's firmware straight away as you don't want a 'dead player' so soon.......

It saids it's a 2GB player, what you can also do it FILL the player up to MAX with 2GB's of videos or music. Then play it to confirm that everything plays with errors. There's been a number of hacked players out there now with smaller size memory chips hacked to show more. Usually errors appear when you try to play all your songs.
