Weird one. Copied 4 GB of music and data files across and the data files were all corrupted, so suspected a hacked 4GB drive. Formatted in XP Disk Management, formatted as 4GB FAT. Suspected trick was still working. Downloaded HP formatting utility as above and it formats as FAT at 4GB. Used full format, not Quick. Still strange. Only route now is to take it apart and check the chip. More news later on that one.

UPDATE - It's got the Samsung 2GB chip - but I cant seem to force the format to tell me that. Files over 2GB definately corrupt though.

LAST UPDATE - OK, formatted with the HP utility, then used MP3 Player Utilities 4.03 and it formatted to 2GB, which is what it was reporting. Now to query it with the HK seller above. One for the rip-off section.
