I haven't seen this problem before with any of my players.

However, from what you've told me, if it 'sometimes' works and sometimes doesn't, then it seems to be either a faulty FM transmitter in your player or in your earphones.

The quickest way to test is to try a different set of earphones or get yourself a good set of earphones. Some of them have an FM transmitter in the earphones, so it might make things better.

Otherwise most likely it seems like a faulty FM transmitter chip inside your player then.

How long have you had it and can you claim warranty for it?
