From what i know, you'll be able to get a non apple version of the speakers. You can't really use an ipod dock as there isin't the dock connector in the MPx player.
There are speaker docks selling on ebay and many in some electronic shops that uses the traditional 3.5mm earphone jack. Most probably you will need a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptor.
