Firstly did you repair your firmware with s1fwx when you extracted it from your player, it will not load if you haven't.
If your player is not recognised by windows and the MP3 Update Tool gives you a "No Device" warning then you will have to follow the Dead Player Recovery Guide
HERE to reset your player. Because you have made a backup of your firmware you have a pretty good chance of recovering your player.
