Yes you have to load each image one at a time by selecting the image to change and then importing the new one. If you use s1res 1.9 you can just drag and drop the image from explorer straight to s1res.
The other thing to note is not all firmware layouts are the same or use the same size images so you may have to edit the theme to suit your firmware
