I notice s1fwx.exe says standby time = 30, even though the player's interface has no option for "standby time", which makes me think firmware is fubarbed somehow.

Software provided versions 3.74, 4.0, and 4.04 - seems 3.74 is generating viable results most often.

D'oh... The reseller said it had said feature, and as I said the Telbook software is part of the package... I notice, browsing the resources in the dump.bin, there's even menu icons for it - they just don't come up on the player. Anything I can do to tweak the firmware into enabling it? Or am I just SOL? (Seems the E-book function works alright, suppose I could just keep text files with numbers - but darn, I hate being ripped off.)
Reseller's been no help BTW, aside from directing me here. Hence my begging for scraps of info. It also has a minor hardware issue, the screen gets flickery sometimes until I press hard against the back of it. (Somethin's loose in there.)
