dailyroach , i don't have a clue with your problem. You have tried all the tools mentioned and also tadad1's hacked chip recovery program. Maybe it has something to do with the initial memory hack when you 1st received the player, causing the MBR to be corrupted. Or simply it could be that the remaining "lost" MB are bad/damaged sectors. You might want to try a final attempt at scandisk, but i doubt it'll solve the problem.
