Manhunter, At the moment there is no way to make a viable backup of the 9.0.XX version firmware. None of the firmware on site will work for your player because they are for the ATJ2085 chip your ATJ2097 is a newer version.
The only way you are going to be able to recover your player is with a full version firmware. I suggest you contact your supplier to see if they can send you a copy.
Some players also come with a copy of the firmware on the mini CD.
I have a full 9.0.43 but it is for 1.8LCD so will be no use to you. If you upload your firmware to
www.sendspace.com and leave a link so I can download it I will see if I can merge it.
