. Trying to update the firmware is the second fastest way to kill your player. The fastest is a hammer. There are hundreds upon hundreds of firmware each one specific to the player it was designed for. Have a browse in the Dead Players forum.
You can not add more games but you have done well with 4 most have none, one or two.
From memory I think 1024x786 is max size image that the player can resize but large files put a strain on their tiny CPU's so 640x480 will load faster an take up less space.
Try this for video settings,

But start with high instead of medium and then drop it back to medium if you player has Format Error problems.
