elpunko, For best results you should take a 3 step approach to converting DVD video to AMV. It may take a little longer but the end results are worth it.

First you need to convert your DVD to AVI. You can use XMPEG HERE:

Once you have the video converted to AVI then process it through VirtualDub to crop, resize and set frame rate to match your AMV Conversion.

Finally convert to AMV.
