mark2, The reason that the supplier does not want you to use the disk tool is because the player has a memory chip that is hacked to read larger than it's real size. Using the Disk Tool will remove the hack and expose the players true size and his fraud. This is likely why your player crashed in the first place.
If your player is recognised as an ADFU device it is in recovery mode and you need to load a full version firmware as it will not accept a dump. Once you have loaded a full version you can start trying dump files to find one that suits your player.
