You probably suffer from weak battery contacts too. I had trouble with the wall charger, but after a charge through the usb port, it charges okay with the wall charger. Maybe a quirk, from being off so long between production and use. My gf's samsung's battery became better after some unload/load sequences too. yeah you're right, i used it until the battery died, and now it's been actually charging through the wall adapter for about 3 hours now. very weird indeed, seems like it shouldn't take this long but whatever, let's see how it works past this point.
in addition, i noticed the addendum to the instructions that says don't use the switch to turn it on and off, but instead just hold down the play button. kinda whack.
