Thierryd, I have not seen a 3.5.38 firmware but usually the 3.5.XX series was ok for the ATJ2085 chip but that does not mean it will work with every Atj2085 player.
As lattesurf explained the firmware version numbering system is not very helpful.
To explain if there are 500 factories making these MP4 Players and each factory is making 5 different model ATJ2085 players they will make a 3.5.37 firmware for each model they are producing so what you end up with is 2500 different 3.5.37 firmware for ATJ2085 players but they are each specific to the player that they were created for.
