Alex, despite the fact that it reads 4GB it is only 2GB. All 4GB no brand chinese players are fakes. 2GB is the most memory they can support.

There is no way to tell which firmware is going to recover your player but the ATJ2085 is one of the most common chips used. The recovery process is just a matter of trial and error you need to try as many firmware as you can find that match your players screen size. Firmware versions 3.5.35 and 3.5.37 are most likely to be the best choice for the ATJ2085

If your player stops being recognised by your PC or the upgrade tool then you will have to follow the Dead Player Recovery Guide to reset the memory chip.
