Looks interesting. Not very sure what it is, or what it actually does. It goes all the way into Quantum Physics? Kewl.. Maybe it's some kinda magnetic dust of sorts that alters the magnetic fields around the player?
Do test it out on the video playback and see if it does make a difference.
