Re: New Feature: eBay Store
I don't know if you've read my post on the 'blacklisted sellers' thread but I brought up the same issue daveislander did.
Fair enough that you paid for the eBay store add on but are you saying you're not making ANY money off having it there?
I'm just a bit confused because if
1) It's costing you money to keep the store attached
2) It conflicts with the support you're giving about bad sellers and creates a credibility issue
3) and filtering the results to fix the above is going to be too much trouble
then why have it at all?
If you can filter out the sellers that are confirmed to be dodgy then great. Thing is people are finding that it's not only the larger 4gb and 2gb models that are modified but modified 1gb units are also popping up. Add to this the constantly changing sellers and you may find it's more trouble than it's worth.
However if you can find a way and put can afford the time then more power to you.
Please though if you can't fix it, don't just dump up a disclaimer about 'not taking any responsibility for externally listed sites blah blah blah'
People come here to get trusted information from you and when that happens they will put their trust in your site generally. To turn around and say "yeah this part of the site is fine, but go here and you're on your own" just doesn't cut it with me.
I have belief and an assumption about what you're trying to do here if I'm correct and I intend to support it as much as I can. However as it stands I just can't get past the conflict in having bad sellers advertised here.
At the end of the day, I feel if you have a truely independant site, you'll get more click through anyway and generate the income needed to support the project.
Going half/half isn't going to help anyone.
BTW, I realise I may be getting ahead of myself since the last few posts were like, yesterday, but you did ask for feedback on the issue so there it is.
