seoultec, Well if you have done all that it certainly does not sound like a hacked chip but to be honest I have not come across this problem before. Opening the player if it has screws is not dificult but there may be a label or QC sticker on the Memory chip that you may need to carefully remove.

If you go into Settings on the player and select On-Line Mode set it to Multi Drive then turn the player off then back on. Connect it to your PC when it appears in Explorer does it appear as 1 or 2 drives?
