jeromeof , ensure the on/off switch on the top is set to the on position.
Try plugging in your player to the computer and leave it "charging" for a few minutes and see if there are any signs of life.
Also, are you using a USB hub? If you are, disconnect the USB hub and connect the player directly to the computer's USB port.
If all these fails, likely your battery might be totally dead. i'll suggest you contact your seller for an exchange or refund.
