I know a few people have said that they will write to you about this problem so I will keep this short and (hopefully) to the point.
People are being ripped off to the tune of £Millions (seriously!) on Ebay with the latest scam out of China/HK. The scam involves selling mp3/mp4 players - Christmas's biggest present - with their memory "hacked" to show 4 Gigabytes when they actually only have 1.
I was caught by one of these scammers, who claimed to be in Preston (
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...4616&rd=1&rd=1) but was actually in HK and opened a dispute with Paypal. Paypal accepted a partial refund on my behalf and closed the dispute claiming that there was no more money in the guy's account! Here are his current listings all of which will go through Paypal's coffers!
I only found out about this scam when I went looking for software to convert video to the .AMV format for the player and found this site, obviously I now realise that the problem is massive with one of these players being sold every 5 minutes somewhere on Ebay worldwide (£30/sale = £600/hr = £14,400/day - not peanuts!).
I just thought I'd add my comments to any others you mught have received, I've made sure to comment only on the seller I dealt with but there are loads, many of them operating from 'VERY similar locations'!!
Give this a look, it's a least worth alook!?!
