Default YES 9.0.48 Firmware can be modded

Yes, believe it or not it is possible. You will need to download a 9.0.48 FULL version from the Firmware section, since it is NOT possible to extract it from your player at this time. Be sure it is compatible with your board and chipset. The way i figured out which one worked (RISKY) for my player was to download every 9.0.48 FULL file that was listed and flash it to my player until I found one that worked (dont flame me if you brick your player, I had no problems but that dosen't mean someone else won't). If you do choose this method and flash a firmware that is incompatible, your player will just show a blank screen. As long as it will still reconnect to the computer, even though the flash drive dosen't show up, you can still flash it with another file. ALTHOUGH, IF THERE IS NO FILE AVAILABLE FOR YOUR PLAYER YOU ARE S-O-L AND YOUR PLAYER IS A BRICK. After you find a compatible firmware file use the Firmware Modify tool from S1mp3.org to edit the language and battery settings. My file was set to default to Chinese and 1.5v Alkaline, so, I needed to change it to English and 3.6v Lithium. Save the modifications and then open it with S1res and change all the images you please. After you are satisfied, save the modifications and flash your played with the modded 9.0.48 firmware and enjoy being one of the first few with a modded UI on a 9.0.48 player.
Ohh yeah I'm new to the opensource idea with an MP3 player but have over 10 years of computer experience and have owned an onsite IT business for 8 years. As I figure out and learn more I will post my findings.
