Just wanted to report my success. My heart sank :cry: when I first realised I had been ripped off, but I dilagently read through as many posts as possible and now thanks to testdisk 6.4 I have a fully functioning 966mb MP4 player.
First I backed up the firmware with s1fwx (in case of self induced disaster)
then ran testdisk 6.4 then disk tool
My players firmware is 9.0.4.3 and testdisk did not effect it in any way.
I am still a bit grumpy about how long the battery lasts (2hours), but hey, some folks don't even get 5 mins out of their battery if they get any life from the player atall, so I should not moan!
Anyway it prety much works like a dream now, and whats more I have negotiated a refund of 60% :shock: in addition to keeping the player, so all in all it has worked out o.k. :mrgreen:
TESTDISK 6.4 is brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
