Cognition , regarding battery life, the chinese players are generally of lower quality. If you're lucky, you'll get 1 with good capacity and lasts around 3-4hrs of video playback. If you're not, you'll end up with 1 that lasts less than a minute.
However, there are other players like the Glacier which feature removeable batteries (nokia), which can be swapped if the battery is low.
In terms of stability, once you have formatted it and removed any memory hacks that it contains, it would usually be quite stable. Although the occasional static might just restart your player.
If videos are the main thing, i'll recommend you going for larger screens. Perhaps the 2" would be a good choice. i've watched a couple of movies on my 2" player on my flight back home and was reasonably good.
