you may try and open it and see it the usd connector pins inside if it is broken(happend to my old one) this may happen when the pin is a bit out of the place and when you pluge it use cord in and resulting in pushing the pins in or bending it. if not that problem look into either if the batteryis connected correctly, or is it a defective one. look for is anything looks like burned out, make sure you didn't staticed it due to the winter(you get more statics during winter some how) another thing i found out, all the people with the restarting problem, it is not the faulty machine, it is the statics also, try taking a sweater off and have the mp3 player touching the sweater, it will restart.
