Default Glacier won't turn on at all!

I am extremely upset. This evening, while listening to mp3s on the glacier I received from UXCELL via their eBay username discounttown, I suddenly heard a loud buzzing sound in my right earphone. Thinking that the earphones were defective, I unplugged them from the player. But the buzzing sound continued when it switched to speaker mode. All of a sudden the player restarted... and yup... you know the drill... stayed stuck on the hourglass. I switched it off and back on again, and this time it got to the main screen, but before I could press any buttons, it restarted AGAIN. This continued for about five minutes before I got fed up and put the player aside. About half an hour later when I regained my patience I picked the player up again, took the battery out and put it back in, turned the switch on and off, and nothing happened. No hourglass, nothing. Now I know that the battery could not possibly have drained that fast because it was just full. I plugged it into the computer, the AC adaptor, and pressed all the buttons, took out the battery and put it in yet AGAIN, but nothing. The computer wouldn't even recognize the player. I wrote an angry e-mail to UXCELL demanding for them to explain the problem but they obviously didn't read my e-mail and replied a few minutes later that I should "check it" for viruses with an antivirus program, not addressing my problem at all.

What should I do? I've only had the player for a week and a day and in no way was it abused. I really don't want to go through the hassle of sending it back to Hong Kong for an outrageous postage when UXCELL are the ones who sent me a defective player in the first place, but I don't really have a choice. I'm at my wits' end.
