lol yeah I see what you mean about people using the word 'dead' when what they should say is ''I killed it''
I cant say tha all these firmware deaths are user error as the units are so generic that a firware looks like it should work and then doesnt, but then its too late.
I once killed a dvd player with a firmware update and it was my own fault, I started the flash procedure, then the screen went blank after about 10 seconds and the unit opened the dvd tray, I switched it off and back on, dead, I'd killed it. why? if I had read _all_ the instructions you should turn it off and back on _after_ the draw has opened....and closed.
