I also have played them on my computer with AMV viewer. This also plays them for 3-5 seconds and stops. I am wondering what is the problem. Do you think I don't have the right codec's? I have downloaded the jeffereson's South Park episode off of here, and it works fine when it plays. So I think it is a problem with the software or codecs or something. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all of them atleast twice. So I am at a loss. If anyone can help it would be appreciated, and also if someone could explain how codec's work that would be great too.
Thanks

I'm actually having the
exact same problem. I just got my "Chipod" in today from Uxcel. It's one of the "i-Platinum" series, the new one with the 1.8in LCD (
Link from UxCell).
It didn't come with any software, but I was able to find the AMV convert tool v4.0 off the web. Converted a few files (after converting them to WMV first, everything else crashed when trying to convert it straight) and was able to convert quite a few music videos. When playing on the actual machine though, the video was a bit slow and caused the video to skip in places. It tended to be where there was a lot of movement so my guess was the Chipod can't keep up with the video at the 'high' settings. As noted you can't change the settings on v4.0 so I upgraded to v4.05. Was able to change the settings there, video converted OK but it freezes after 4-5 seconds.
I then tried v4.07 and v4.09 all had the same effect. Video freezes after a few seconds on each file. I'm now back down to 3.68 but it doesn't support the full screen of the i-Platinum which is a bummer. Is there
any version of the AMV conversion tool that supports 160x120, allows you to bump the quality down to at least 'medium' and doesn't lock up after 5 seconds? Any help would be appreciated.
