Basics for these players are the same, minor differences in button layout and screens. You could download manuals from the download section, or try searching youtube (ipod clone, chipod, mp3player) to watch some demonstrations/reviews.
Did you set the on/off switch to on? In the settings there is an adjustable option to let the player turn itself of, set it to 0 to avoid that. Same for screen if you want to keep it on, will drain the battery fast though.
When the player is attached to the computer, you can transfer folders to the player, various folders, folders in folders, etc. 99 song limit per folder! So that's about the same as copying files to another harddisk in your computer.
There are updated versions of the software that came with the player in the download section too, you probably need the mp3player utilities with the AMV converter, to convert your video's to the players format and codec.
