If it really needs to be easy to operate, then a chipod may not be the answer,
as these (ACTION chipset anyway) can frustrate the technically challenged.
They're not great for file browsing, because they cant sort by ID3 tags (ie. artist, etc).
They require patience because they take time to register a click (and you've clicked
without realizing it, then they do your last move while you're on the 3rd move after that).
Plus, they are not very intuitive. That said, if there are budget restraints and the above isn't an issue, the FMP is probably the best bet (2nd gen Nano clone). The ones I know of are 2GB, but you can find 2nd gen nano clones at 4GB.
Otherwise, if you want easy to operate and budget isnt an issue, then I'd suggest the iRiver Clix (again, 2GB but there may be a 4GB ver. out now or soon), or the Meizu M6 (4GB ver.). Maybe even a Sandisk E260, something like that. Not sure if there's an optional AC adapter for the Clix though, and for the Meizu, I'm pretty sure the AC adapter is optional.
Try CNET for info on branded players. Try here for unbranded players. Try eBay for ideas (type in 4GB)

- Easy to operate

- Have an AC adapter as end user does not have PC.
- Affordable.
Some questions;
- Is it simple to convert AVI files to chipod acceptable file?
- Are the earphone the "standard" US size or do I need adapter?
- Is video resolution worse, same, better than the nano?
- Do all players look like the nano?'
- Where can I find info about the different type of players, their pros, cons, etc...
- Do these players have brands? or are they catalogued simply by the chipset and firmware?
Finally, can someone reccomend a trusted site/ebay seller to purchase a true 4GB flash memory media player? I am in the US if it helps for anything.
Thx.
