right, i managed to get a hold of the full version of xilisoft converter in the end, but now I have a different problem. I converted a few episodes of family guy at 320X240 24fps 600kb data rate with 96kbps mp2. All these files work perfectly. However when I encode widescreen content such as a dvd rip or an hdtv episode of Entourage at exactly the same settings (apart from the aspect ratio which I changed to 1.777 or 16:9) the videos are in sync when you play them (even when you scroll through) but after about 1 minute the audio and video start to go out of sync, what could tyhe problem be do you think?
