Default Problem with SVP HDDV-2400 video camcorder/Mp4 player/

Okay, I know that this isn’t the exact place I should be as mainly I’m having a problem with my digital camcorder.

But you guys are so smart with these china import things, I figured if anyone knows how to get this fixed it’s you guys.

I recently purchased my SVP HDDV-2400 off of ebay.

It’s basically an all purpose China Knock off
http://www.svp-tech.com/2400/2400.htm

It’s a video Camcorder, Digital Camera, MP3 player, mass Storage device.

The problem is that I can’t seem to get Windows XP to recognize the thing. I’ve installed all the drivers from the CD and still nothing.
Sometime when I plug it in, windows will say “Found new hardware” but nothing shows up.

I really want to use this as a web cam, and taking video for web applications.

Can anyone help me with Where I should start on trying to get this thing to work. I’ve put an email into the company, but from what I hear on different reviews the customer service isn’t top notch.
