zachlardy, the battery lasts around 2 hours constant video playing and about 5 or 6 playing just music. Not good, but my friend doesn't seem to mind much.

We both got a bit of a scare today when files started to corrupt around 1GB. I deleted the corrupt files backed up the good ones and tried to format it with the mp3 utilities. I must have been using an incompatible version because it hit me with an error like "unable to format this disk type" or something. Taking a chance, i used Windows 2000 to format it to FAT32 and as expected it came to just under 4GB.
Then i proceeded to copy all the files back... around 400MB. Then i got a brainstorm. I decided to copy as many different file types to the player to fill it to the brim.
A couple of cd images, a folder with over 1GB of mp3's and several movie files until it reached about 3.5GB. the process was extremely slow. Single files copied quickly, but muliple files transfers took ages. The process took about an hour in total.
Then i started copying files back to another location on the Win2k systems HD. They copied back very quickly. About 10 times faster than they went on. I didn't have the time to test them all, but the ones i did check worked fine.
That should be a sufficient test to prove it is a true 4GB FMP shouldn't it?

EDIT: I should also point out, that during the whole time, the player was just as quick loading songs and videos, navigating menus and file browsing. Although it did slow down a little when it was almost full, enough to notice but not enough to make you sufficiently grumpy enough to throw it out the window lol
