Default I-nickle 2Gb Black screen of death

Hi
I have a I-nickle 2Gb which i purchased from uxcell a few months ago (november 2006) everthing was fine but then i got the hourgalss screen and i could not do anything with it.

i found this site and found the dead recovery guide which was very helpful, i did everything the guide said and everything went well, but when i got to uploading the firmware it changed i went to uxcell's website and i downloaded the firmware which i was told in a email uxcell sent me. when i uploaded the firmware into the mp3/4 player. the screen changed from a hourglass to a blackscreen with a line through it and it stayed like that. I removed it from the USB and it turned off i then turned it on and the screen was bluey/black with the back light on. so i does nothing which i thought was strange since everything was going so well and i used the correct firmware.

so i have formatted in FAT and FAT32 i have tryed other frimwares but nothing happens i have upgraded the mp3 utilities to 4.05 and tryed product tools. when i use the extraction tool and it trys to detect the firmware size it says "error: the system cannot read from the specified device." and when it is going to read the flash it says the same thing.

now the mp3/4 player is dected by the pc and i can move songs and files to the mp3/4 played but the player itself does nothing just sits on the bluey/black screen.

i hope that is enough info for someone to give me a hand im willing to do anything to get this thing going again and i have emailed uxcell and all they sent me was emails saying that they will sent new players out but i have to buy them again and i dont feel i should have to sent more money for a player that may not work again hehehehe

thank you
